We are already in 1st ESO!

Interview to 1st ESO students

Interviewer: “How is 1st Eso with this Covid situation? How do you feel?”
Students: «It´s a bit weird, all the time with the mask is hard. We like to have contact with people but we have to mantain the security distance. We don´t know some people´s face, just their eyes, this is sometimes intriguing.»

Interviewer: “How did you think the “ESO” was?”
Students: «Some people (our old siblings or students from ESO) scared us by telling that in Secondary we had to stop doing our after-school activities because we hadn´t had time to do them. But it´s not true. If you plan and organize well you have time to do sport, meet friends or do plans in the afternoon. We also thought teachers were very strict and they sent much homework but that´s not true because if you pay attention in class and do your homework everyday it´s easy.»

Interviewer: “Is it true what you thought last year about teachers in Secondary? Are they like “demogorgons”?”
Students: «Well… maybe, it depends… We mean.., probably some of them… sometimes yes! hahaha
Actually they´re kind people and we like them but it´s true that sometimes they get angry and it´s when they look like “demogorgons” as if they came from another world. Hahaha.»

Interviewer: “What are the main changes or differences from 6th to 1st ESO?
Students: «Classes look longer, we have 3 consecutive hours until the break. There is more homework than in primary. Homework and exams are longer too and we have exams very often.»

Interviewer: “How do you work in the ESO?”
Students: «We have six classes everyday. First, three hours of class, a break and then another three hours.
Each subject is given by a different teacher so we see many teachers in a day what means we have more variety of teachers, that´s good.
We also have to organize ourselves, using the agenda, asking classmates and teachers if one day we don´t come to school…There are always many things to do so we have to keep up with all the subjects, that´s very important and helps us a lot.»

Entrevista a los alumnos y alumnas de 1ºESO de nuestro centro.

El alumnado de 1ºESO responde a varias preguntas sobre su nueva etapa. Nos comentan que cuando estaban en 6º de primaria tenían una idea distinta sobre secundaria. Algunos veían la ESO como si se tratase de otra dimensión o planeta. Había alumnos que incluso se imaginaban “demogorgons” por los pasillos. Ahora están descubriendo cual es la realidad…

Entrevistador: “¿Cómo es la ESO con la situación de la COVID? ¿Cómo os sentís?”
Alumnos: «Es un poco raro, todo el rato con la mascarilla… Estamos acostumbrados y nos gusta tener contacto con nuestros compañeros y compañeras pero ahora tenemos que mantener la distancia de seguridad y eso también se nos hace duro pero lo entendemos. Otra cosa curiosa que nos está pasando es que hay gente (compañeros/as nuevos, profes…) que aún no conocemos sus caras, ¡solo sus ojos! Y eso a veces es desconcertante… jeje.»

Entrevistador: “¿Cómo pensabais que era la ESO?”
Alumnos: «Algunas personas (hermanos mayores u otros alumnos de la ESO) nos asustaban diciéndonos que en secundaria tendríamos que dejar de hacer nuestras actividades extraescolares porque no tendríamos tiempo para nada. Pero nos hemos dado cuenta de que eso no es verdad. Si te organizas bien te da tiempo y puedes seguir con tus extraescolares, quedar con amigos o hacer planes por la tarde. También pensábamos que los profes en la ESO eran muy estrictos y mandaban muchos deberes pero eso tampoco es cierto del todo porque si prestas atención en clase y llevas al día las tareas, es fácil.»

Entrevistador: “¿Es cierto eso que pensabais el curso pasado sobre los profes de la Eso? ¿Se parecen a los “demogorgons?”
Alumnos: «Bueno, a ver… depende… ¡Quizá alguno a veces sí! (Jajajaja).
En realidad son muy majos y nos caen bien pero es verdad que a veces cuando se enfadan se convierten un poco en “demogorgons” y parecen que vienen de otro planeta (jajaja).»

Entrevistador: “¿Cuales han sido los principales cambios que habéis notado de 6º a 1ºESO?”
Alumnos: «Las clases se hacen más largas. Tenemos 3 horas seguidas de clase hasta la hora del recreo. También hay más deberes que en primaria, y los exámenes son más largos y los tenemos con más frecuencia.»

Entrevistador: “¿Cómo trabajáis en la ESO?”
Alumnos: «Tenemos 6 clases cada día. Primero tres horas de clase, un recreo y después otras tres horas de clase. Cada asignatura la da un profe distinto, así que vemos a varios profes en un mismo día, eso es bueno. También tenemos que ser muy autómatas, usar la agenda del cole, si un día faltamos a clase tenemos que preguntar a los compañeros/as y a los profes por la tarea de ese día y organizarnos nosotros mismos. Siempre hay muchas cosas que hacer, por eso tenemos que estar al día con todas las asignaturas, eso es muy importante y nos ayuda mucho.»
