Black history month

In the United States *Black History Month* is celebrated in February every year. In 4ºESO we have been looking at the history of civil rights in the U.S. as well as some promenent figures in the movement. We have discussed Nelson Mandela, Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King Jr., and Malcolm X just to name a few. It is important to learn from history so we do not repeat it in the present or the future. We are now watching the film Selma to learn more about the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s and the Voting Rights Act.

Es muy importante para nuestro alumnado que conozca las causas de movimientos como Black Lives Matter, así como que asimile el origen y la historia de los problemas raciales en países como Inglaterra, Sudáfrica o Estados Unidos al tiempo que aprenden inglés.
